DAAD Research Grants for PhD Students and Postdocs

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is pleased to offer a series of grants to PhD students and Postdocs under our Research Grants program.

These grants are offered in the different streams listed below:

– One Year Grants (for research stays of between 7 and 10 months)
– Doctoral Programmes in Germany (to support PhD studies at a German university)
– Short Term Grants (for research stays of between 1 and 6 months)

Deadline: DAAD Study Scholarship

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Study Scholarship is designed to support exceptional students with the living costs associated with pursuing master’s degree studies at a German university. For students wishing to study in disciplines other than architecture, fine arts, film, music design or the performing arts.

DAAD RISE Germany – Research Internships in Science and Engineering

Application Deadline: December 15, 2017

The DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service RISE Germany program offers  undergraduate students in fields related to the natural sciences and engineering the opportunity to complete a summer research internship in the lab of a German doctoral student. The working language in the lab is English and the host scholar helps find accommodation for interns.

DAAD RISE Professional Workplace Internship Program

Application deadline: December 15, 2017

DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service offers Master’s and Doctoral Students in fields related to the natural sciences and engineering the chance to complete an internship in a German workplace or non-university research institution with strong connections to industry through its RISE Professional program.

All participants receive a scholarship from DAAD and an additional stipend from their host company/institution to help cover living expenses along with health insurance while in Germany and a stipend to help offset transatlantic travel costs.

Internships run for a maximum of three months in the summer or fall.

Deadline: DAAD German Studies Research Grant

Application deadline: passed

The DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service offers German Studies Research Grants to highly-qualified undergraduate and graduate students who are nominated by their department/program chairs. These grants may be used to support short-term research (one to two months) in Germany.

The program’s architectures varies depending on the level of study of the applicant (Bachelor, Master’s, Doctoral).
